Art Basel Hong Kong 2022: Where the Heart Is

Ora-Ora celebrates personal passions, sweet yearnings and tender delusions in Where the Heart Is. The gallery illuminates inner sanctuaries of the subconscious, demonstrating how the pathways of solitude ultimately lead to communion and refuge. On display will be the industrialized reality of Sweden-based Juri Markkula, and the vibrant corner paintings of British artist Stephen Thorpe, dancing atop the boundary of the physical and the psychological. The heritage fantasy of Xiao Xu and the geometric, jiehua abstraction of Peng Jian will join with the interdisciplinary internationalism of Kyoto-based artist Mai Miyake, for whom, in Shakespeare’s words, “Fair is foul, Foul is fair.”
