This painting is mythological, psychological, and deeply meditative. In fact, the icy mountains, migrating birds, and decorated border invite the viewer to contemplate time’s slow, unrelenting movement—both in the natural world and within our personal and collective memories. The central scene is dominated by an icy, crystalline mountain range, contrasting with the more rugged, dark peaks behind it. This stark division symbolizes a transition between past and present, known and unknown, or natural and supernatural. A flock of black birds appears, their presence evoking themes of omen, migration, or ancestral spirits. The warm, golden sun hints at the passage of time, cycles of nature. The visual contrast between the cool, glacial central landscape and the warm, organic frame suggests an interplay between stasis and growth, preservation and decay, or the endurance of ancestral memory in the ever-changing present.

The ornate frame is an extension of the artwork itself: A watchful canine figure emerges from the bottom right, reinforcing the idea of passage between realms—perhaps between life and memory, reality and dream.
