Wang Yongcheng

Born in 1984 in Laiwu, Shangdong, Wang Yongcheng graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with Bachelor Degree in 2006. He is currently Master Student of Chinese Painting at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.

There are no sights of serenity and peace in the boisterous and strident city, only streams of cars and crowds of people. Yet, he yearns for serene and tranquility, therefore, he always trys to build my spiritual home in the mist of the noisiness, the fading figures are the motifs used where he placed them into his ideal world to experience and liberate with imagination. He deliberately arrange these figures in meaningful episodes, to express the incredible happenings to him. In fact, he was desperate when he first created this because there is just a big gap between ideal and reality, but he is lucky to be able to hold on to this spiritual home of his. He hopes that while he rushes to make a living year over year, he can find my haven in New Ink.
