Sun Wen

Born in 1982 in Dangdong, Liaoning, Sun Wen was graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with Master Degree in 2008 and currently resides and works in Chongqing. He has in fact participated in any exhibitions in China and Hong Kong, including 2008 Beijing 798 Art Festival Exhibition, Eight Young Artists from China: Doodle Street Gallery Opening Invitation Exhibition, Contemporary Reinterpretation: Joint Exhibition by MFA students from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, the 5th Sichuan Fine Arts Institute MFA Annual Exhibition, Snapshot. New Ink: Contemporary Chinese Ink Exhibition by Artists from Sichuan Fine Art Institute, and Hong Kong International Art and Antiques Fair and won the Distinguished Prize at the 5th Sichuan Fine Arts Institute MFA Annual Exhibition.

There may be many definitions to Art, but the final conclusion of Art may fall into the artist himself. The artist’s desire to question and pursue life experiences and challenge the value of existence becomes the initiation of artistic creation, and at the same time, should be the ultimate finale. Contemporary art emphasized that the artist should not have any prior concept or framework to art, and uses a very personalized way to express the current condition of life. It is fresh, diverse, and lively. At the same time, it is tangible, it is subtle, and it has depth. It has nothing to do with the material or the skill, and also has nothing to do with the existing value judgment. It only cares to what extent the artists’ energy, consciousness and openness enables him to immerse into realities in life.
