Mok Yat-san
- Dedicated in art education with continuous teaching positions at different institutes
- Winner of numerous prizes, awards and commissions in Hong Kong and abroad
- Actively involved and recognized in local public sculpture projects
- BA in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong; MA in Fine Arts from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
Mok Yat-san exemplifies the unexpectedly harmonious marriage between modern, industrial and western materials with the motifs of historical Chinese landscape painting. The results are miniature Chinese mountains and waters represented not in matte, fluid ink but in sparkling solid steel. Yet, the polished surfaces create reflections that lend the work the same sensation of sublime that are found in Chinese scroll paintings. Underlying his sculptures are interrelating dialogues between past, present and future; western and eastern cultures; and nature, art and man.
